Design Contest

Create an original, fresh campaign design for Gabrielle Battiste and her Gabrielle4YEG Campaign to use for her Edmonton City Council campaign in Ward O-day’min! The design will primarily be used on her campaign signs to be displayed throughout the Heart of the City.
The designs may be used on a number of different items of swag, as well as online use in social media.
Once your design is complete, submit it by email to [email protected] as a JPEG or PNG file, along with a short story about you and your design. We want to know how you came up with it and who you are – so will all Edmontonians! Please include your first and last name, your address and phone number.
Deadline to submit: June 9, 2021 at 11:59 pm.
All submissions will be reviewed by Gabrielle and her team on or before June 11, 2021.
There are no guidelines - have fun and be creative in your own unique way!
The top 3 designs will be sent across social media for community voting on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Community voting period is from June 12 to June 18, 2021. The design with the most votes will be contacted and announced over our social media channels the following day, and may be asked for a photo of themselves, if they are willing.
The winning design will be featured on all Gabrielle4YEG campaign signs, along with the winner’s own name (if desired).
Terms and Conditions
Any person, of any age, is eligible for this design contest.
Youth below the age of 18 must have written consent from a parent or legal guardian.
All designs must be original. If your entry infringes upon the intellectual property right of another, you will be disqualified.
Submission Deadline: Entries will be accepted until 11:59 pm, June 9, 2021.
How to Enter: The contest must be entered by submitting an entry by email to [email protected]. The entry must fulfill all requirements, as specified in these rules, to be eligible to win a prize. The email must have the designer's first and last name, address and phone number.
In the case of a submission by someone under age 18, written consent must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian along with the design submission, that includes the parent/guardian's full name, address, phone number and email for confirmation.
Prizes: The winner will have their design on a variety of Gabrielle4YEG signage and swag, including (but not limited to) election signs, shirts, tote bags, buttons, stickers, mugs; along with name credit on the design and in social media. The winner may choose not to have their name disclosed in any way.
Winner Selection and Notification: the Gabrielle4YEG Campaign team will select the top 3 out of all the designs submitted. The winner will be selected by community vote out of the top 3. Community vote will be open from June 12, 2021 at 9:00 am to June 18, 2021 at 11:59 pm. The winner will be announced on June 19, 2021. The winner will be contacted directly by phone and email by Gabrielle.
By entering this contest, you understand and agree that Gabrielle Battiste, in her personal capacity, has the exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide right to print, publish, broadcast, distribute, and use the design in a variety of capacities, forever. She will always give the winner credit for the design, or keep the winner anonymous - it will be up to the winner to decide.
In the case of the winner being under age 18, written consent will need to be provided by their parent or legal guardian to use their name as credit for art use on swag, signage or social media.
Designers and artists that were not voted as the winner of the contest may be contacted at a later date to inquire about potential future use of their artwork by the Campaign team or Gabrielle Battiste personally.
If no suitable designs are received, in the sole discretion of Gabrielle, a winner will not be chosen at that time and the contest deadlines may be extended or the contest may be terminated.
